আজ বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুরে চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জের নাচোল উপজেলার কেন্দুয়ায় আধুনিক পদ্ধতিতে আম চাষের বাগান পরিদর্শন ও কৃষকদের সাথে মতবিনিময় অনুষ্ঠানে মন্ত্রী এসব কথা বলেন। এসময় কৃষিসচিব ওয়াহিদা আক্তার, বিএআরসির নির্বাহী চেয়ারম্যান শেখ মো. বখতিয়ার, কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তরের মহাপরিচালক বাদল চন্দ্র বিশ্বাস, কৃষি গবেষণা ইনস্টিটিউটের মহাপরিচালক দেবাশীষ সরকার, ধান গবেষণা ইনস্টিটিউটের মহাপরিচালক শাহজাহান কবীর, স্থানীয় সংসদ সদস্য মো. আব্দুল ওয়াদুদ, সংসদ সদস্য সামিল উদ্দিন আহমেদ শিমুল, জেলা প্রশাসক একেএম গালিভ খান, স্থানীয় আওয়ামী লীগের নেতৃবৃন্দ ও কৃষি বিভাগের কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
মন্ত্রী বলেন, আন্দোলন করে, সন্ত্রাস করে বিএনপি নির্বাচনকে ব্যাহত করতে চায়, বানচাল করতে চায়। বিএনপি ২০১৪ ও ২০১৮ সালের নির্বাচনকেও বানচালের চেষ্টা করেছিল। বিএনপি ২০১৩-১৪ সালে ৩০০ এর বেশি মানুষকে পুড়িয়ে হত্যা করেছিল।
পাকিস্তানি বাহিনীর নির্যাতনের চেয়েও বেশি বর্বরোচিত, পৈশাচিক ও নিষ্ঠুর ছিল এসব নির্যাতন। নির্দলীয় সরকারের দাবিতে এবারও বিএনপি সেরকম ক্ষেত্র তৈরি করতে চাচ্ছে। তিনি বলেন, বিএনপি বিগত ১৫ বছর ধরেই আন্দোলন করছে। কিন্তু জনগণ সাথে নেই বলে তারা সফল হয় নি। উন্নয়নের কারণে জনগণ শেখ হাসিনার সাথে আছে, আগামী নির্বাচনে জনগণ আবার শেখ হাসিনাকে ক্ষমতায় আনবে।
২. আম বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা অর্জনের বড় উৎস হবে- কৃষিমন্ত্রী মন্ত্রী বলেন, অচিরেই আম বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা অর্জনের অন্যতম বড় উৎস হবে। দেশে উন্নত পদ্ধতিতে ও উত্তম কৃষি চর্চা মেনে নিরাপদ আম উৎপাদিত হচ্ছে। আমের রপ্তানি এ বছরেই অনেক বেড়েছে।
আমাদের রপ্তানি আয় শুধু গার্মেন্টস নির্ভর না থেকে বহুমুখী করতে আমরা চেষ্টা করছি। আম, শাকসবজিসহ বিভিন্ন কৃষিপণ্য রপ্তানি করে বিপুল পরিমাণ বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা আমরা আয় করব। তিনি বলেন, টাটকা আমের পাশাপাশি আম প্রক্রিয়াজাত করে আমের জেলি, পাল্পসহ আম দিয়ে তৈরি বিভিন্ন খাদ্যও রপ্তানি করা হবে। এতেও বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা আয় করা যাবে। আমের জন্য সংরক্ষণাগার নির্মাণ এবং আম চাষিদের জন্য সহজ শর্তে কম সুদে ঋণের ব্যবস্থা করা হবেও বলে জানান মন্ত্রী। পরে দুপুরে কৃষিমন্ত্রী শিবগঞ্জ উপজেলার কানসাটে আমের কোল্ডস্টোরেজ ও ছত্রজিতপুরে পলিনেট হাউজে বিভিন্ন ফসলের চাষ পরিদর্শন করেন। এসময় তিনি বলেন, দেশে ভাতের কোন অভাব নেই। খাদ্যের কোন সংকট নেই, কোন দুর্ভিক্ষ নেই।
এখন আমরা আধুনিক কৃষির দিকে যাচ্ছি। আধুনিক প্রযুক্তির পলিনেট হাউজে সারা বছর বিভিন্ন ফসলের চাষ করা হচ্ছে। এই পলিনেট প্রযুক্তি আগামীতে সারা দেশে গ্রামে গ্রামে ছড়িয়ে দেয়া হবে। একইদিন বিকালে তিনি চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ শহরে আঞ্চলিক উদ্যানতত্ত্ব গবেষণা কেন্দ্রে আম উৎপাদন, বিপণন ও সংরক্ষণ বিষয়ক কর্মশালায় প্রধান অতিথি হিসাবে যোগ দেন।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার অধীনেই আগামী নির্বাচন সুষ্ঠু ও নিরপেক্ষ হবে বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন কৃষিমন্ত্রী ও আওয়ামী লীগের প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য ড. মো. আব্দুর রাজ্জাক।
তিনি আরো বলেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনাই ক্ষমতায় থাকবেন, এবং তাঁর অধীনেই আগামী নির্বাচন সুষ্ঠু, সুন্দর ও গ্রহণযোগ্য হবে। তারপরও বিএনপি যদি ষড়যন্ত্র করে অসাংবিধানিক সরকারকে ক্ষমতায় আনতে চায়, নির্বাচন বানচাল করতে চায়, তাহলে এ দেশের প্রশাসন, আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনী তা মোকাবেলা করবে। আর আওয়ামী লীগের নেতাকর্মীরা প্রশাসনকে সহযোগিতা করবে।
