চলতি বছর আম রপ্তানি কার্যক্রম আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে শুরু হয়েছে। এবছর লক্ষ্যমাত্রা ৪ হাজার টন, যা গত বছরের তুলনায় দ্বিগুণ। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে ঢাকার শ্যামপুরে কেন্দ্রীয় প্যাকিং হাউজে আম রপ্তানির উদ্বোধন করেন কৃষিসচিব ওয়াহিদা আক্তার। এসময় কৃষি মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব রবীন্দ্রশ্রী বড়ুয়া, কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তরের মহাপরিচালক বাদল চন্দ্র বিশ্বাস, সরেজমিন উইংয়ের পরিচালক তাজুল ইসলাম পাটোয়ারী, আম রপ্তানি প্রকল্পের পরিচালক আরিফুর রহমান, বাংলাদেশ ফ্রুটস, ভেজিটেবলস এন্ড এলাইড প্রোডাক্ট এক্সপোটার্স এসোসিয়েশনের সভাপতি জাহাঙ্গীর হোসেন প্রমুখ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

রফতানিযোগ্য আম উৎপাদন প্রকল্প এবং বাংলাদেশ ফ্রুটস, ভেজিটেবলস এন্ড এলাইড প্রোডাক্ট এক্সপোটার্স এসোসিয়েশন এ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে। আজ ৪টি দেশে প্রায় ১০ লাখ টন আম রপ্তানি হচ্ছে।

২০১১-১২ অর্থবছরে ২ লক্ষ হেক্টর জমিতে ২৩.৫০ লক্ষ মে. টন আম উৎপাদিত হয়েছে। ২০২১-২২ অর্থবছরে বাংলাদেশ হতে বিশ্বের ২৮ টি দেশে ১৭৫৭ মে. টন আম রফতানি করা হয়েছে। অনুষ্ঠানে কৃষিসচিব বলেন, সারা বিশ্বেই বাংলাদেশের আমের সুনাম রয়েছে। দেশে ২৪ লাখ টনের ওপরে আম উৎপাদন হয়। গত বছর মাত্র ১ হাজার ৭৫৭ টন রপ্তানি করা হয়েছে। বিশ্বে আম উৎপাদনে আমরা সপ্তম স্থানে থাকলেও রপ্তানি খুবই কম। রপ্তানি আরও বৃদ্ধি করতে হবে। এজন্য যত ধরনের প্রতিবন্ধকতা আছে তা দূর করা হবে। প্রয়োজনে উৎপাদন স্থানের কাছাকাছি প্যাকিং হাউজ করা হবে।

রফতানিযোগ্য আম উৎপাদন বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে কৃষি মন্ত্রণালয় রফতানিযোগ্য আম উৎপাদন প্রকল্প (Exportable Mango Production Project) বাস্তবায়ন করেছে। কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তর (ডিএই) ২০২২ হতে ২০২৭ খ্রি. মেয়াদে প্রকল্পটি বাস্তবায়ন করছে। প্রকল্পের মোট ব্যয় ৪৭ কোটি টাকা। রফতানিযোগ্য মানসম্মত আম উৎপাদনের লক্ষ্যে দেশের ১৫ টি জেলার ৪৬ টি উপজেলায় প্রকল্পটি বাস্তবায়িত হচ্ছে।

২০২২-২৩ অর্থবছরে প্রকল্প সহায়তায় উত্তম কৃষি চর্চার মাধ্যমে আম উৎপাদন প্রদর্শনী – ৩৫০ টি, রফতানিযোগ্য জাতের আম বাগান সৃজন-৬০৪টি, বিদ্যমান আম বাগানে সার ও বালাই ব্যবস্থাপনা-২৪০ টি এবং আধুনিক প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহার (প্রুনিং ব্যাগিং ও বালাই ব্যবস্থাপনা) মানসম্মত আম উৎপাদন প্রদর্শনী ২০০ টি স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। মানসম্মত আম উৎপাদনের লক্ষ্যে প্রদর্শনীসমূহ ক্লাস্টার আকারে স্থাপিত করা হচ্ছে; ইতোমধ্যে ০৯ টি উপজেলাতে ৩৭১ জন আম চাষীকে ক্লাস্টার প্রদর্শনীর আওতায় আনা হয়েছে। মানসম্মত আম উৎপাদন ও পোস্ট-হার্ভেন্ট ক্ষতি কমানোর লক্ষ্যে কৃষক গ্রুপে ম্যাংগো প্লাকার, হাইড্রোলিক ম্যাংগো হারভেস্টার, গার্ডেন টিলার, ফুট পাম্প, এলএলপি ও ফিতাপাইপ সেট সরবরাহ করা হয়েছে।

বাংলাদেশে উত্তম কৃষি চর্চা (গ্যাপ) সনদ প্রদানে প্রয়োজনীয় সক্ষমতা বিদ্যমান না থাকায় ইউরোপ ও আমেরিকার মূলধারার সুপারমার্কেটসমূহে আম রফতানি করা সম্ভব হয় না।

আমের গ্যাপ সার্টিফিকেট প্রদানের প্রয়োজনীয় জনবল ও সক্ষমতা অর্জন করা গেলে বাংলাদেশ থেকে উন্নত দেশসমূহে আম রফতানির পরিমান বহুলাংশে বৃদ্ধি পাবে।

বাংলাদেশ হতে আম রফতানি তরান্বিত করার লক্ষ্যে রফতানিযোগ্য আম উৎপাদন প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে আমের পেস্টরিস্ক এ্যানালাইসিস (পিআরএ) ও উত্তম কৃষি চর্চা তৈরি এবং জিআইএস প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহার করে প্রদর্শনী এবং কৃষি প্রযুক্তির তথ্য আদান-প্রদান ও সংরক্ষণের কার্যক্রম চলমান আছে। রফতানিযোগ্য ০৫টি আমের জাতের প্রোডাক্ট প্রোফাইল তৈরী করা হচ্ছে।
